Twinnin

AI’s scraping your face. Time to scrape it back.

Picture this. You’ve just made a brew. You flick on the telly. Your face pops up as an extra on your favourite show. No consent. No payment. No verification. Creepy? Yep. OK? Definitely not. In a chaotic AI world, likeness theft is the norm. That’s why Twinnin — a verified consent registry where humans license or defend their face for AI use — is the most essential technology for online safety that exists today. We repositioned the company with a refreshed visual and verbal brand identity, helping Twinnin scale at speed and raise the money they need to transform a rampant and unchecked AI industry for the better.

Case study

THE BRIEF

Twinnin is all about choice. Users have two when it comes to their face: License or Defend. Brands, broadcasters, and AI labs can then legally and consensually use these likenesses in their work — if permitted. Essentially, Twinnin takes power away from rampant AI operating systems and hands it back to you — the real person on the other end.

With a new round of seed funding just around the corner, Twinnin’s brand wasn’t doing the heavy lifting needed to communicate the technology’s industry-changing potential. The company had built brilliant traction, but that momentum needed to snowball.

It had to professionalise, capturing the attention of a growing audience. On top of that, Twinnin needed a trust marker. A marker that told users: yes, this person has given their full consent. That this digital Twinn isn’t just human-endorsed, but Human Verified. In an industry that moves at rapid speed, the strategic goals and visual and verbal identity needed to catch up. Fast.

OUR ANSWER

You might have a twin. You just don’t know it yet.

Our faces are already out there. They’re used to train AI models without consent. At best, that’s unpaid work. At worst, it undermines our values and demeans human integrity. Yet it often feels like powerful actors are forcing this pathway on us, steamrolling centuries of law intended to protect our IP, our likeness, ourselves. What the public doesn’t know is how quickly that can all change, and how much agency they stand to gain. Twinnin isn’t just for celebrity actors protecting their careers. It’s for you and us.

The Twinnin brand had to be a myth-dispeller and the no-brainer choice registry for liveness and likeness. It needed to feel like you’re finally discovering the missing tool that you should have had all along. Whether you wanted to go dark, or make money from your digital twin while you sleep. Or create an AI model that understands the nuance of fair use. All of this comes down to control, verification, and choice.

That’s when we settled on a concept that now runs through the entire brand. Your face. Your control. Four words that translate complex technology into a language that investors understand.

THE OUTCOME

Choice and security sit at the heart of Twinnin’s new brand identity. The new logo, with its holographic tints, draws on security labels plastered on the physical media or passports, hinting at a secure offline reality. Real, Verified Humans appear throughout, with shimmering three-dimensional License and Defend trust markers validating Twinnin’s obsession with security and drawing a thick line between the real and the unreal. Every model we’ve used is a Verified Human registered on the Twinnin platform, and this ethical, intentional AI design encapsulates UnitedUs’ entire attitude towards AI creation.

The messaging framework builds on this sense of defiant choice, bringing more of Twinnin’s disruptive, rebellious nature directly into the identity. Words are direct in addressing ‘you’, the reader, spotlighting personal consent. All this is balanced out with a touch of playfulness, expressing the creative character that sits behind the Twinnin team.

Throughout the brand, the visuals and verbals nod to each other, layering in added cohesion and depth. Like the line ‘The choice is written on their face’, which is paired with images showing the technical Twinnin likeness process, and various dimensions and statistics following the Twinn’s movements. The team also coined terms such as ‘backdoor consent’ to sound intentionally provocative and attention-grabbing, which is one of many lines that turns heads (and faces).

The platform’s repositioned brand identity is the stepping stone they need to attract investors and scale at speed. After all, Twinnin always wanted to stand up to Big Tech and change the AI industry forever. Now they have the brand to take them on. Face to face.
