We craft brands that unite people, purpose and potential

Whether that’s helping an organisation to change its culture through rediscovering its vision and values and communicating them, or achieving ambitious growth with a compelling brand identity or creative campaign.

Good strategy starts with good research – not research that just confirms what a client already suspects. We start from the same baseline on every project: research should never cost people more than it gives them back.

Whether you’re an employee, customer or investor, we need to understand things from where you’re standing, not where we assume you are. That’s what keeps our strategies aligned with what you actually need.

Quantitative research

This is when the data being gathered is quantifiable and can be used to perform mathematical, statistical, or computational techniques. Some methods we employ are audits, surveys, polls and questionnaires.

Survey, poll and questionnaire data is accessible exclusively to members of the UnitedUs team and is securely stored within the EU. We only collect data that is relevant to the project at hand. We encrypt all data transferred between you and us.

Qualitative research

This is when the data being gathered is textual data and focuses on words and meanings. Methods we use include workshops, 1-2-1 interviews, focus groups and ethnographic observation.

Workshops, interviews, focus groups and observations are often recorded and transcribed. All data is accessible exclusively to members of the UnitedUs team, and is processed and securely stored within the EU.

Mixed research

The majority of our projects will use a mixed methodology as it helps us gain a more holistic understanding, over and above quantitative or qualitative methods individually.

Once we’ve collated the raw data using the above methodologies, we interpret and collate insights into reports or summaries, often using anonymous quotations. Using insight as our foundation, we then craft comprehensive strategies that are provided to clients to help them achieve their objectives – whether that’s in service of their culture, brand/s, or campaigns.

Nothing about us, without us

Good research has a habit of taking more than it gives. People hand over their time, their story, sometimes their trauma – and get a polite thank you and silence in return. We don’t work that way.

Non-extractive by design. If we’re asking for someone’s time, insight or lived experience, they get something back for it: fair payment, a clear account of what changed because of what they told us, and – wherever it’s genuinely possible – a seat in shaping the research itself, not just answering it.

Nothing about us, without us. When a project touches people with direct lived experience of the thing we’re researching – a health condition, a community, a workplace culture – they’re not a data source we consult once and move on from. They help shape the questions, sense-check what we think we’ve heard, and have a real say in what gets carried forward.

Trauma-informed, properly. Some of the topics we’re asked to research are hard ones – illness, loss, discrimination, workplace harm. We plan for that rather than hoping it doesn’t come up: trained facilitators, informed consent and the right to withdraw at every stage, no pressure to disclose more than someone’s comfortable with, and a named safeguarding contact on any project where it’s relevant.
